Electric Vehicle Rebate

Abstract

Amends the Electric Vehicle Rebate Act. Provides that, to be eligible to apply for an electric vehicle rebate, a purchaser must purchase or make a significant payment towards the purchase of (instead of purchase) an electric vehicle on or after July 1, 2022. Makes a conforming change. Provides that, if a person made a significant payment towards the purchase of the vehicle after July 1, 2022 but before the effective date of the amendatory Act, then the person may apply for the rebate within 90 days after the effective date of the amendatory Act. Effective immediately.
