Amends the Courses of Study Article of the School Code. In provisions concerning safety education and driver education courses, provides that, beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, the course instruction relating to highway construction and maintenance zones shall include at least one clock hour on worker safety in highway construction and maintenance zones. Effective immediately. Senate Committee Amendment No. 1 Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Courses of Study Article of the School Code. In provisions concerning safety education and driver education courses, provides that the course instruction on special hazards existing at and required safety and driving precautions that must be observed at highway construction and maintenance zones shall include worker safety in highway construction and maintenance zones. Effective August 1, 2024.
