Il Id Card-Federal Prisoners

Abstract

Amends the Illinois Identification Card Act. Provides that the Secretary of State shall issue a standard Illinois Identification Card to a person committed to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons (currently, only to persons committed to the Department of Corrections or Department of Juvenile Justice) upon receipt of specified information and shall issue a limited-term Illinois Identification Card valid for 90 days to a committed person upon release from the U.S. Bureau of Prisons (currently, only from the Department of Corrections or Department of Juvenile Justice) if the released person is unable to present the specified information. Effective immediately. Senate Committee Amendment No. 1 Adds reference to: 15 ILCS 335/12 from Ch. 124, par. 32 Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Illinois Identification Card Act. Sets forth procedures for the Secretary of State to issue a standard Illinois Identification Card to a person committed to the Department of Corrections, the Department of Juvenile Justice, a Federal Bureau of Prisons facility located in Illinois, or a county jail or county department of corrections (rather than the Department of Corrections or Department of Juvenile Justice). Makes conforming changes. Effective immediately.
