Vital Records-Certificates

Abstract

Amends the Vital Records Act. In provisions concerning the search of death certificates for service members, replaces references to active duty or retired service members with references to active duty service members or veterans. Effective immediately. Senate Committee Amendment No. 1 Replaces everything after the enacting clause with the provisions of the introduced bill with the following changes. In provisions concerning the search of death certificates for service members, replaces references to active duty or retired service members with references to active duty service members or honorably discharged veterans (rather than veterans). Defines "veteran" as an individual who served in the Armed Forces of the United States, National Guard, or the reserves of the Armed Forces of the United States. Effective immediately.
