Domestic Violence Awareness

Abstract

Amends the State Commemorative Dates Act. Provides that the month of October of each year is designated as Domestic Violence Awareness Month to be observed throughout the State as a month set apart to promote awareness of domestic violence and to support advocacy activities that will reduce its prevalence in the State. Senate Committee Amendment No. 1 Deletes reference to: 5 ILCS 490/197 new Adds reference to: 5 ILCS 490/1 from Ch. 1, par. 3051-1 Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the State Commemorative Dates Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the short title.
