Amends the Massage Licensing Act. Provides that for the initial renewal of the massage license which requires continuing education, as prescribed by rule, one hour of the continuing education shall include domestic violence and sexual assault awareness education as prescribed by rule of the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. Provides for every subsequent renewal of a license, one hour of the continuing education may include domestic violence and sexual assault awareness education as prescribed by rule of the Department. Provides that the one-hour domestic violence and sexual assault awareness continuing education course shall be provided by a continuing education provider approved by the Department. Provides that the Department may prescribe rules regarding the requirements for domestic violence and sexual assault awareness continuing education courses and teachers. House Floor Amendment No. 1 Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the provisions of the introduced bill with the following changes: Provides the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation shall adopt rules for continuing education for persons licensed under the Act that require a completion of 25 hours (rather than 24 hours) of approved continuing education per license renewal period. Provides that for each license renewal period, one hour of continuing education shall be domestic violence and sexual assault awareness education as prescribed by rule of the Department (rather the one hour of continuing education in domestic violence and sexual assault awareness education being required for the initial renewal and permissive for subsequent renewals).
