Product Liability Exceptions

Abstract

Amends the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act. Excludes from provisions of the Act making the Act inapplicable to actions or transactions specifically authorized by laws administered by a regulatory body or officer, the manufacture, distribution, or sale of a product that causes or contributes to cause bodily injury, death, or property damage. Effective immediately. House Committee Amendment No. 1 Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the bill as introduced and expands the scope to apply to services as well as products that cause or contribute to injuries. Effective immediately.
