Abstract

A BILL to be entitled an Act to amend Title 37 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to mental health, so as to provide for a five-year pilot program for the purpose of creating emergency psychiatric assessment, treatment, and healing units or EmPATH units in hospitals; to provide for definitions; to provide for a short title; to provide for the administration of such program; to provide for rules and regulations; to provide for the certification of EmPATH units; to provide for an appropriations contingency; to provide for funding or gifts in-kind; to provide for exclusions; to provide for termination of such program and automatic repeal of the article; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
