Education; rules for determination of eligibility for in-state tuition rates at institutions of higher education; provide

Abstract

A BILL to be entitled an Act to amend Title 20 of the O.C.G.A., relating to education, so as to provide for rules for the determination of eligibility for in-state tuition rates at institutions of higher education; to amend Code Section 50-36-1 of the O.C.G.A., relating to verification requirements, procedures, and conditions, exceptions, regulations, and criminal and other penalties for violations so as to provide that verification of lawful presence in the United States shall not be required for determinations of eligibility for admission, for in-state tuition rates, and for scholarships, loans, and grants pursuant to Article 7 of Chapter 3 of Title 20 by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, the State Board of the Technical College System of Georgia, the board of commissioners of the Georgia Student Finance Commission, and the board of directors of the Georgia Student Finance Authority; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
