Abstract

Education and Workforce Development for Current and Former Inmates; Provides that DFS may reimburse, subject to appropriation, employers for cost of certain workers' compensation & auto liability premiums; provides requirements for reimbursement application; provides requirements & restrictions for reimbursement; requires department to process application & notify applicant within specified timeframe; requires department to coordinate with employer for certain purpose; provides that reimbursements are made on first-come, first-serve basis; authorizes Correctional Education Program to develop & implement vocational curriculum in which certain inmates can earn specified commercial driver licenses; provides for eligibility of certain inmates in Open Door Grant Program.
