Abstract

Elections; Requires Florida Commission on Offender Review to develop & maintain database containing certain information; repeals provisions relating to Office of Election Crimes & Security & prohibition on use of private funds for election-related expenses; prohibits certain governmental entities from taking certain actions relating to elections; establishes Florida Voting Rights Act Commission; requires commission to designate certain languages for which assistance in voting & elections must be provided in certain circumstances; requires commission to enter into agreement to create Florida Voting & Elections Database & Institute; provides that enactment or implementation of certain policies by covered jurisdiction is subject to preclearance by commission; authorizes court to order certain appropriate remedies; authorizes certain persons to register to vote & immediately thereafter cast vote in certain circumstances authorizes DHSMV to preregister certain individuals to vote; revises provisions relating to third-party voter registration organizations & vote-by-mail ballots; establishes General Election Day as paid holiday; repeals prohibition on ranked-choice voting; authorizes certain persons to file certain civil actions.
