Placement of Surrendered Newborn Infants

Abstract

Placement of Surrendered Newborn Infants; Requiring licensed child-placing agencies to maintain a specified registry; requiring that certain information be removed from the registry under certain circumstances; prohibiting the child-placing agency from transferring certain costs to prospective adoptive parents; requiring licensed child-placing agencies to immediately place a surrendered newborn infant in the physical custody of an identified prospective adoptive parent; providing that the prospective adoptive parent becomes the guardian of such infant under certain conditions for a certain period of time; providing requirements for licensed child-placing agencies once they take physical custody of a surrendered newborn infant, etc.
