Abstract

Cardiac Screening for Newborns; Revising components that are included in the postpartum evaluation and follow-up care birth centers are required to provide to include a cardiac screening of the newborn; requiring attending health care providers at home births to provide or coordinate the referral for a newborn cardiovascular screening; requiring the newborn’s primary care provider to provide or coordinate the referral for the screening if a health care provider does not attend the home birth; requiring hospitals that provide birthing services to provide a postpartum evaluation that includes the cardiovascular screening of each newborn, etc.
