Vacation Rentals

Abstract

Vacation Rentals; Requires advertising platforms to collect & remit taxes for certain transactions; revises certain regulated activities of public lodging establishments & public food service establishments preempted to state; expands authority of local laws, to include requiring vacation rentals to register with vacation rental registration program; authorizes local governments to adopt vacation rental registration program & impose fines for failure to register; preempts regulation of advertising platforms to state; authorizes Division of Hotels & Restaurants to issue & deliver notice to cease & desist for certain violations; authorizes division to collect attorney fees & costs & impose fine on advertising platforms for violations.
