Commercial Real Property

Abstract

Existing law authorizes a public entity to, by enactment of a statute, charter or charter amendment, or ordinance, establish a requirement for notice relating to the termination of a lease of commercial real property due to the expiration of its term. Existing law prohibits an enactment pursuant to that provision from applying to certain leases and rental agreements, including a lease, the term of which expires within 270 days after the effective date of the enactment. This bill would instead prohibit an enactment pursuant to that provision from applying to a lease, the term of which expires within 271 days after the effective date of the enactment.
