Workers' compensation: privacy.

Abstract

Existing law establishes a workers' compensation system, administered by the Administrative Director of the Division of Workers' Compensation, to compensate an employee for injuries sustained in the course of employment. Existing law prohibits a person or public or private entity not a party to a claim for workers' compensation benefits from obtaining individually identifiable information obtained or maintained by the division regarding that claim, except as provided. This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to these provisions.
