Existing law establishes the Department of Motor Vehicles within the Transportation Agency. Existing law states the department is the successor of several previous state departments relating to motor vehicles, including the Motor Vehicle Department, the Division of Motor Vehicles of the Department of Finance, and all other state agencies of similar designation. This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to those provisions.
