Residential care facilities: placement of children.

Abstract

Existing law, the California Community Care Facilities Act, provides for the licensing and regulation of community care facilities by the State Department of Social Services, including various residential care facilities for children who require out-of-home placement under certain circumstances. Existing law declares the policy of the state to facilitate the proper placement of every child in residential care facilities where the placement is in the best interests of the child. Existing law authorizes placement of children and nonminor dependents with varying designations and varying needs in the same facility if specified requirements are met. This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to those placement provisions.
