Bill Subjects

Access To Schools.

Abstract

Existing law prohibits an outsider, as defined, from entering or remaining on school grounds during school hours without having registered with the principal or designee, except as specified. Existing law requires an outsider to provide specified information to the principal or designee to register, including their name, address, and occupation, purpose for being on school grounds, and proof of identity. Under existing law, an outsider who fails or refuses to leave school grounds promptly after being asked to leave or fails to remain off school grounds for 7 days is guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by imprisonment in county jail for 6 months, or a fine of $500, or by both that fine and imprisonment. This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to these provisions.
