Director of Developmental Services: guardianship and conservatorship.

Abstract

Existing law, the Guardianship-Conservatorship Law, generally establishes the standards and procedures for the appointment and termination of an appointment for a guardian or conservator of a person, an estate, or both. Existing law authorizes the Director of Developmental Services, upon nomination and acceptance, to be appointed as either guardian or conservator of the person or estate, or both, of a person with developmental disabilities. Existing law specifies that the Guardianship-Conservatorship Law applies when the Director of Developmental Services is appointed as the guardian or conservator of a person with developmental disabilities. This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to that provision.
