Cemetery and Funeral Act.

Abstract

The Cemetery and Funeral Act provides for the licensure and regulation of cemeteries, crematories, funeral establishments, cremated remains disposers, and their personnel, by the Cemetery and Funeral Bureau, which is within the Department of Consumer Affairs. Existing law authorizes the bureau to inspect the premises in which the business of a funeral establishment, cemetery, or crematory is conducted, where embalming is practiced, or where human remains are stored. This bill would also authorize the bureau to investigate the premises where human remains are disposed. The bill would also make other nonsubstantive changes.
