Existing law generally establishes an annual registration period for vehicles and imposes annual registration fees on vehicles. This bill would authorize the Director of Motor Vehicles, on or after January 1, 2020, to establish a biennial registration period for a vehicle, with subsequent renewals being required at biennial intervals thereafter, as specified.
