In-home supportive services.

Abstract

Existing law establishes the In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) program, administered by the State Department of Social Services and counties, under which qualified aged, blind, and disabled persons are provided with services in order to permit them to remain in their own homes. Existing law requires each county human services agency to accept applications for IHSS benefits by telephone, through facsimile, or in person, or, if the county is capable of accepting online applications or applications via email for IHSS benefits, by email or other electronic means. This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to that provision.
