Alcoholic beverages: wine blenders.

Abstract

Existing law, the Alcoholic Beverage Control Act, which is administered by the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, regulates the application, issuance, and suspension of alcoholic beverage licenses. Existing law creates the winegrower license and defines a "winegrower" as a person who has facilities and equipment for the conversion of grapes, berries, or other fruit into wine and is engaged in the production of wine. Existing law applies provisions of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Act that pertain to winegrowers, or to the directors, officers, agents, and employees of winegrowers, to wine blenders, and to the directors, officers, agents, and employees of wine blenders, except as otherwise provided under the act. This bill would remove the agents of wine blenders from the above-described general application of winegrower provisions in the Alcoholic Beverage Control Act to wineblenders.
