Early childhood education: learning readiness measures: report.

Abstract

The Child Care and Development Services Act has a purpose of providing a comprehensive, coordinated, and cost-effective system of childcare and development services for children from infancy to 13 years of age and their parents, including a full range of supervision, health, and support services through full- and part-time programs. The act requires the Superintendent of Public Instruction to develop standards for the implementation of quality programs. This bill would require the Superintendent to provide a report to the Legislature and the Governor, no later than January 1, 2021, with recommendations to guide state policy on learning readiness measures, as provided.
