Magnesia Spring Ecological Reserve: Mirage Trail.

Abstract

Existing law requires, until January 1, 2018, that the Mirage Trail within the Magnesia Spring Ecological Reserve be open 9 months of the year during the months of May to January, inclusive, and closed for 3 months during the months of February to April, inclusive, to recreational hiking if the Fish and Game Commission determines that specified conditions relating to providing funding and ensuring the proper use and monitoring of the reserve are met. This bill would require the commission, beginning January 1, 2020, and by January 1 every 2 years thereafter, at a public hearing, to assess compliance with the requirements of those provisions and post its findings and any recommendations on its Internet Web site. The bill would also extend the repeal date of those provisions to January 1, 2028.
