Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation: prisons.

Abstract

Existing law creates the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, which is headed by the Secretary of the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, who is appointed by the Governor, subject to Senate confirmation, and serves at the pleasure of the Governor. Existing law provides the department with jurisdiction over prisons and institutions, as specified. This bill would grant the department jurisdiction over the Ventura Youth Correctional Facility, the N.A. Chaderjian Youth Correctional Facility, the O.H. Close Youth Correctional Facility, and the Pine Grove Youth Conservation Camp.
