Peace officers: body-worn cameras.

Abstract

Existing law makes it a crime to intentionally record a defined confidential communication without the consent of all parties to the communication. Existing law exempts specified peace officers from that provision if they are acting within the scope of their authority, under designated circumstances. This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation that protects the privacy of individuals recorded by body-worn cameras utilized by law enforcement officers and the privacy of law enforcement officers wearing body-worn cameras.
