Local government organization: disincorporated cities.

Abstract

The Cortese-Knox-Hertzberg Local Government Reorganization Act of 2000 provides the authority and procedures for the initiation, conduct, and completion of changes of organization and reorganization of cities and districts by local agency formation commissions. Under that act, upon disincorporation of a city, on and after the effective date of that disincorporation, the territory of the disincorporated city, all inhabitants within the territory, and all persons formerly entitled to vote by reason of residing within that territory, are no longer subject to the jurisdiction of the disincorporated city. This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to this provision.
