General acute care hospitals: supplemental or special services.

Abstract

Existing law provides for the licensure and regulation of health facilities, including general acute care hospitals, by the State Department of Public Health. Existing law prohibits a general acute care hospital, as defined, from holding itself out as providing a service that requires a supplemental or special service unless the hospital has first obtained approval from the department to operate that service. This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to those provisions.
