Pupil transportation: pupil safety.

Abstract

Existing law prohibits a governing board of a school district from requiring the transportation of a student or pupil for any purpose or for any reason without the written permission of the parent or guardian unless there is an emergency arising from illness or injury to the student or pupil. This bill would also authorize the transportation of a pupil without the written permission of the parent or guardian in situation that requires the immediate transportation of the pupil to ensure his or her safety. The bill would also make nonsubstantive changes to this provision.
