Domestic violence victims: services and support.

Abstract

Existing law establishes within the Office of Emergency Services a Comprehensive Statewide Domestic Violence Program to ensure that all victims of domestic violence served by the program receive comprehensive, quality services. The program provides financial and technical assistance to local domestic violence centers in implementing various services, including counseling and emergency response to calls from law enforcement. This bill would express the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation that would provide funding for the implementation of a pilot program in which nonprofit organizations would work with the local district attorney to provide services and support to victims of domestic violence.
