Counties: taxes: authorization.

Abstract

The California Constitution prohibits the Legislature from imposing taxes for local purposes, but allows the Legislature to authorize local governments to impose them. This bill would authorize the board of supervisors of any county to levy any tax that may be levied by any charter city, subject to the voters' approval pursuant to Article XIIIA and Article XIIIC of the California Constitution.
