Commission on Teacher Credentialing: teacher misconduct.

Abstract

Existing law requires the Commission on Teacher Credentialing to appoint a Committee of Credentials that is authorized to review an allegation of misconduct of an applicant for, or holder of, a credential, as specified. Existing law requires the committee to report its recommendations of adverse actions to the commission, which may be adopted by the commission under specified conditions. This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation that would direct the commission to undertake all procedural and statutory changes necessary to increase the number of cases of teacher misconduct that the commission reviews each month.
