Health care service plans.

Abstract

Existing law, the Knox-Keene Health Care Service Plan Act of 1975, provides for the licensure and regulation of health care service plans by the Department of Managed Health Care. Existing law requires the department to adopt regulations to ensure that enrollees have access to needed health care services in a timely manner, and authorizes the department to take enforcement action against plans regarding noncompliance with those requirements, as specified. This bill would delete certain obsolete language from, and make other technical, nonsubstantive changes to, that provision.
