Disorderly conduct: invasion of privacy: felony.

Abstract

Existing law establishes the offense of disorderly conduct to include specified invasions of privacy, and makes the offense a misdemeanor, punishable as provided. This bill would instead make those specified invasion of privacy offenses a felony punishable by imprisonment in a state prison for 16 months, or 2 or 3 years. By increasing the penalty for an existing crime, this bill would impose a state-mandated local program. This bill would also delete obsolete provisions, and make conforming changes. The California Constitution requires the state to reimburse local agencies and school districts for certain costs mandated by the state. Statutory provisions establish procedures for making that reimbursement. This bill would provide that no reimbursement is required by this act for a specified reason.
