Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Conservancy.

Abstract

Existing law authorizes various conservancies to acquire, manage, direct the management of, and conserve public lands in the state. This bill would establish the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Conservancy to restore, maintain, and enhance ecosystems, including habitats, wildlife corridors, native species, and open space, in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, and to develop and implement projects to address the economic viability of the Delta region, consistent with a specified Delta Plan. The bill would become operative only if specified related bills of the 2009–10 Regular Session of the Legislature are enacted and become effective on or before January 1, 2010.
